Speaking of our house, that has been the other source of our busy lives lately. As of last week our house is "officially" on the market. This is our first home and we love it! It was a great first house for us as a married couple, and wonderful place to bring G home to start our family, but the Army says it's time to venture elsewhere. This being our first home, this is our first time going through the house selling process, which in one word SUCKS! Having to keep your house organized, de-cluttered, clean and tidy ALL the time with having a one year old is no small feat. Plus, the added "fun" of having to be ready to spruce it all up for a showing the moment the phone rings with a Realtor interested in showing clients. Giving us a whopping 20 minutes to clean, organize, get G and the cats ready to leave the house and make it all bright and fragrant. What a pain! We've had a few showings which is a good sign, but nothing beyond that. Showings just crack me up - it's like a house "first date". We hide all the clutter away, light yummy smelling candles, and turn all the lights on so it shines. Hoping "sparks" will fly between our house and potential buyer and they'll want to pursue a relationship aka buy our home. Such a funny ritual - really people should leave there house as is and just have the people see how you really live, but that doesn't fly in the real estate market, just like it doesn't fly on a first date. Can you imagine showing up for a first date in jeans, a t-shirt, hair up, and no make-up? Ahhh...people just couldn't survive that! So, we'll keep gussying up our home for potential daters/buyers and hope that a "love connection" is made soon including a stunning financial offer.....can't blame a girl for dreaming right?
