Plinky Prompt - My Bucket List

Here's five things that definitely make my bucket list that I want to accomplish before I "kick the bucket"...enjoy!

Food and Wine Tour of Italy
Does it really need explaining - it's Italy....delicious food, tasty wine, and the company of my hubby.

Act in a large production
Did some minor acting as a kid and I secretly love to ham it up - would love to get involved in a some theater or improv and put myself to the test

Attend the Academy Awards
I'm a pop culture freak and to get all dressed up and hob knob with Hollywood's finest would be beyond a dream come true.

Own a second home in the mountains
Always have found such peace and tranquility being surrounded by nature and would love to be able to afford that luxury....someday.

Write and publish a book
I'm not sure what it would be, but probably something to do with education or the importance of children's literature, but I just want to make my mark and leave a legacy of my thoughts behind.

Plinky Prompt - Karaoke Time!

I admit to an occasional visit to a karaoke bar, but it has been quite awhile since the birth of Mr. G. Now I don't claim to be Mariah Carey, but I can carry a tune so I'm not half bad. If in the mood I'll willing get up and sing a tune - pending the other singers aren't amazing. Hey, throw a few drinks in me and I'll even do a little crowd interaction or some dance moves or even the Steven Tyler - "ka ka ka KOW!" scream.....watch out!

Escape (The Pina Colada Song) by Rupert Holmes

I simply LOVE this song! It became my "getting ready to go out" song in college and ever since it puts a smile on my face and puts me in a good mood. I like to share that good mood with the crowd.

Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams

Another catchy number and Bryan Adams has a small piece of my heart after "Everything I Do - I Do It For You" from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. He's a musical genius!

Any Way You Want It by Journey

Journey gets the crowd going - gotta love a male singer who can really let loose on the high notes. Journey is blast it loud in your car music and it's just fun to sing.

Plinky Prompt - Favorite Movie Quote

So many to chose from - "I carried a watermelon", "Nobody puts baby in the corner", and "She gets it from me"

Dirty Dancing is definitely in my list of top 5 movies of all time. I don't know if it's the good girl goes for the bad boy love story, the fact that my mother let me watch it on a daily basis beginning at the age of 8, or the sheer beauty of watching Patrick Swayze's back muscles shimmy and glisten with sweat during that dance practice scene with baby. I simply love the film and the 3 quotes above are all fantastic.

1. "I carried a watermelon" - love that baby just got so caught up in Johnny's gorgeousness that she froze and said that to the man of her dreams. Saying idiotic things is something I do often, so I relate.

2. "Nobody puts baby in the corner" - first, if you watch the film closely it's not even a corner she's sitting it. It's just a beam in the wall behind her. Plus, who says that to their lady's parents.

3. "She gets it from me" - also from that final dance scene, but it's during Johnny and Baby's final dance and they pan to the mom and her reaction is she gets it from me....classic. My mother adores this quote because I think she also likes to take credit for both my sister and my impressive skills.

Overall, "Dirty Dancing" is a classic and if you are a girl and haven't seen it over 10 times and can't quote nearly the entire movie....you pretty much suck.
